How to use the circle generator
- Set the size. Type a diameter or use the + and − buttons. The diameter is the full width of the circle in blocks, edge to edge.
- Pick a style. Thin for a light outline, thick for a solid wall, filled for a floor or roof layer.
- Find the center in your world. The dashed red lines on the chart cross at the center. Place a marker block there and count out from it.
- Build and tick off. Tap blocks on the chart as you place them; they turn gray, and the counter shows how many are left. Thick grid lines every 5 blocks make counting easier.

How the pixel circle is drawn
Think of the circle as a perfect round line laid over the block grid. A block is part of the filled circle when its center falls inside that line. For a thin outline we keep the inside blocks that have an empty neighbor directly above, below, left or right. For a thick outline we also count the four diagonal neighbors, which closes every corner gap. The same rule stretched in one direction gives ovals.
That is why every pattern here is symmetric: the left half mirrors the right and the top mirrors the bottom. It also means a pixel circle is never perfectly smooth. Bigger circles look rounder, and below about 7 blocks a circle looks more like an octagon.
Tips for building circles
- Build a quarter, then mirror it. The top-left quarter count tells you how many blocks one quarter takes. Finish one quarter, then copy it three times.
- Use a contrasting block for the outline. Lay out the circle in something cheap like dirt or wool, check it, then replace it with your real material.
- Towers and domes. A tower is the same circle stacked. For a dome or sphere, each layer is a smaller circle; build the widest layer first.
- Plan materials. Most building blocks stack to 64, so the stack count tells you how many inventory slots you need.

Minecraft circle generator FAQ
How do you make a circle in Minecraft?
Pick a diameter in the generator above, then copy the pattern block by block. Start with the four widest rows through the middle, then work out toward the edges. Most builders place one quarter first and mirror it, because a circle is the same in all four quarters.
Should my circle have an odd or even diameter?
An odd diameter has a single center block, which is easiest when you build around a beacon, a pillar or a 1-wide doorway. An even diameter has a 2×2 center and suits 2-wide doors and paths. Both are perfectly round; it just depends on what sits in the middle.
What is the difference between a thin and a thick circle?
In a thin circle the blocks touch only at their corners on the curved parts, so it uses fewer blocks and looks smoother up close. A thick circle fills those diagonal gaps, so the wall is solid from every side. Use thick for walls, moats and farms where mobs or water must not get through.
How many blocks are in a circle?
It depends on the diameter and the style. A 25-block circle takes 68 blocks thin, 96 thick and 489 filled, for example. The generator counts every block for the size you choose and also shows the total in stacks of 64.
How do I build a really big circle?
Mark the center first, then count out the radius in the four main directions and place those blocks. Open the row-by-row build guide and work one row at a time, tapping blocks on the chart as you place them so you don't lose your place.
Can I make an oval?
Yes. Switch to Oval / ellipse and set the width and height separately. Ovals work for arenas, ponds, and the floor plan of an egg-shaped dome.
